Als Antwort auf: Verlorene Szenen? geschrieben von DHPD am 24. Februar 2001 13:45:28:

Alternate Versions for
Léon (1994)

A longer director cut, retitled 'Leon: version integrale' has been re-released
in French cinemas on June 26, 1996. This version is 26 minutes longer than the
previously release version and features all sequences that were removed from the
film after disastrous tests with L.A. preview audiences.

The new scenes include:

- Mathilda asking Leon to have sex with her and Leon refusing;

- Leon explaining why he had to leave Italy and go to New York when he was 19 years old;

- Mathilda and Leon sleeping together in a bed;

- Mathilda threatening to shoot herself playing russian roulette.

- Leon and Mathilda hitting the home of a tattoed drug dealer, and setting fire to his supply of drugs;

- New training missions where Mathilda learns the ropes of becoming an assassin.

- Leon and Matilda going to a restaurant to celebrate her first hit

- The scene in which Stansfield questions Tony about Leon and Mathilda's whereabouts was originally longer. Cut from the final version, Stansfield calls the little children back from the kitchen and threatens to shoot them if Tony does not reveal where Leon and Mathilda are hiding.

A director's cut has been released on video in Sweden, Norway and Japan, 23 minutes longer than the original theatrical release. It's almost the same as the French original cut, except from the scene where Stan threatens the kids in the kitchen.

In the USA cable version, a flyover of Central Park in the beginning has been cut for no apparent reason, and the main titles moved to the first scene.

The Australian TV version cut out the training scene where the rifle is used to practice on the jogger in the park.

The director's cut (with the 26 additional minutes) has been released on DVD.
